The story
Type 11 Stanleys are the sweet spot — the good casting years, before the parts got cheap. This No. 5 came out of a barn near Owen Sound, rust-stained but solid. We flattened the sole, tuned the chipbreaker, sharpened the iron to a hair-splitting edge. It takes shavings you can read through on the first pass. The patina stays — it earned it.
